Our value chain ranges from the weaving, finishing or coating process to manufacturing and assembling membrane structures. Approximately 25 million m² of fabric are produced for the global market per year and further 2 Million m² membrane are processed. Research and development in every respect contribute to our worldwide success.
Sattler SUN-TEX GmbH has developed to become one of the global leaders in the field. In our plant in Gössendorf, near Graz, and in our site in Rudersdorf, we produce shading fabrics, fabrics for antiglare and privacy protection for residential buildings and commercial constructions and boat cover fabrics among others. The SATTLER GROUP looks back on 145 years of history. The family-run company was founded in 1875, and is by now in its fifth generation.
Founded as a trading company in Graz, production at Sattler started several years later, first in Gössendorf and thereafter in Rudersdorf, both currently production sites in Austria.
During the 1960s the company converted to synthetic fibres and to new finishing and coating techniques. In addition, it started to rely on exportation and the conquering of new markets. From the 1990s onwards, growth also took place through new acquisitions. Sattler took over the brands and sales structures of well-known awning fabric producers such as Fröhlich+Wolff (DE), DFU (Norway), OSA (Switzerland), Mehler (DE) and tabella (Switzerland). In 2010 Sattler´s dedication to North America was strengthened by the acquisition of a distribution- and production facility in North Carolina, USA. Outdoor casual furniture and boat-covers are distributed through the Outdura brand name.
The acquisition of CENO-TEC GmbH (DE) in 1996 led to the enlargement of the textile construction sector, and in 2006 Sattler took over the environmental engineering sector of TMB (FR).
This expansion trend was underpinned with the development of new product lines that highlight our core competences: design of fabrics for outdoor use and textile construction with a high degree of engineering involved.
Today the SATTLER GROUP presents itself as an internationally active company with the goal of taking a leading position in all relevant fields of business.
